Dimension Pro .sfz -> .prog

Hi,

i have a lot of sounds in .sfz format. Is there any chance to convert them info .porg files for Dimension Pro. It is so frustrating to load each .sfz sound manual by hand. If they are all in .prog format, i could jump quicker throught my sound library.

I am a very good programmer. Is there any specification about the .prog format of Dimension Pro? I could program a converter.

Thank you for help

If i dont get help i need to buy Halion fom Steinberg, sorry.

    it's not that much effort. takes more effort to make the sfz.  unless you use a convertor.

    have a window open with ya SFZ's and drag / drop into DP.. save out.. you only have to do it the once.. save.

    I just find it odd you'd need to buy halion.. kontakt is better IMHO :)

    No - i want a tool to generate .prog files.

    Remember - Synthesizer are the better choise to have a lot of sounds. Sampler in the 90er was so boring, because you have to load and wait to play the sound. Now we have 2010, we have Sampler as Plugins, we have the CPU power and the memory to use a sampler like a Synthesizer. But - some Idiots won't let us have fun with the new Sampler in 2010. Is Cakewalk so dumb to not support us with converter?

    I repeat: we have 2010, we have Memory and CPU power enought - but we have the most stupid humanity wich is not able to let me switch my samples as fast as possible ?

    HELLO !?

    I AM A PROGRAMMER - WANT TO WORK FOR FREEEE HE !

    Is there any specification about the .prog format ? I make a new converter.

    I like the music tools from cakewalk. Espessialy Project5. A very cool mix of Ableton Live and Steinber Cubase. And all products cost only the half of other companies. I like it.

    There are no generally available published specifications to aid 3rd party developers in creating software that can read and writhe the .prog and .elem file formats of Rapture, Dimension Pro, and other Cakewalk instruments.  The SFZ syntax is published and available to the general public, but it is a moving target in that the published material logs behind the capabilities of Cakewalk's instruments.

    If you really want to dig into the .prog and the .elem file formats I suggest you cannot Cakewalk directly--you may be able to get more information but I would expect if you are allowed access to such information you may also be bound to non-disclosure agreements.

    Just drop your SF2 into the lower slot the says "Empty" (beside the screw head on the left side) then go to the 4 buttons to the left of the slot that says "Empty Program" and click the left most button.  Click on "Save Program as" from the drop down menu.  Give it a name you want and select the folder you want or make a new folder.  The hit save and there you go.  It will show up from now on in your program menu.
