Dimension Pro and Miroslav Refills

I am pretty impressed with all the samples that came with the dimension pro, but I would like to get some others as well.  I read that the new 1.2 version supports the rex format.  Does that mean the miroslav refills for reason can be imported into dimension?   Anybody tried it with success?  Do any of you have any orchestral samples that can be imported that might improve on the ones already there?  Thanks.

generally ..  is it RX2's OR a refill?

if it's a refill it's not possible IF the samples are 24 bit..

if it's just rx2's (loops) then yep drag / drop.

there is a way I use to do it BUT you have to buy a sample converter to do it .. so unless you have a LOT of refills  then it's not really worth it.

I don't know about Miroslav refills being used in Dimension, but I do know that if you like the orchestral sounds that come with the Garritan Pocket Orchestra, you'll probably love Garritan Personal Orchestra 4. It's only $149. (I don't own GPO 4, but others here who seem to know what they're talking about own it and like it.)

Have you also checked out Dimension's own orchestral sounds? It has some pretty good ones in addition to the ones that come with Garritan.

Another option is EastWest/Quantum Leap's Symphonic Orchestra series. Right now, they're offering great savings on them.

Frankly, with what goes on in a REX file/player engine, I'd be a bit leery of using them for orchestral samples. I think it's a cool and useful file format for loops, where you'd like to change the tempo but not the pitch. But most good orchestral samples aren't made from one sample (at one velocity) stretched over the instrument's range, so I don't know if you'd hear some bizarre stuff using REX files for orchestral samples.

PE.. it's more phrases rather than single notes.. so yer it does work well enough.. even with normal none string samples.. you have some , well leeway.. e.g. maybe 20-30 bpm either way

OR you do stuff in double or half time.. it's not too bad... the single samples within microslave are 90% probably either AIFF's or WAV format..

rex / rx2 is nice for loops but not implemented elsewhere sadly moreso.
