audio problem

hi guys....after having so much fun with the soft synths etc and just learning sonar from scratch, i have
just hooked up my guitar for the first audio track. Everything sounds good through guitar rig through my headphones,
but the problem is that it doesnt actually record!!!!
my inputs are good because i can hear it and it is recognized on the meters in track view and console view but no recording.
the track is armed and all seems good to go but still NO RECORDING!!
I am obviously doing something wrong but i dont know what....PLEASE HELP.
cheers.
Jack

    Hi Jack.

First of all I want to check a few things.  The sound is coming out of the headphones plugged into the VS-100?  The output from the guitar track is going to Master .  Master output is to the 1-2 of the VS-100?  You have input monitoring on for the guitar track?  If this is right then you are listening to the tracks processed signal.

Next you arm the track for recording witht he R (red) button on the guitar track?  Then (and I think this might be the issue) are you pressing the play button or the red record button in the main transport section?  Sometimes people press the play button thinking the arming on the track does the recording bit.  You need to make sure you press the record button in the transport section???

    Does this help.

    Regards
    Mick

PS:- the record button is the round white circle that turns red when you press it.
