Roland TD-3 Midi to 2 romplers

I now have both Steven Slate and Superior 2 software. I wish to  play them 'hybrid' from my TD-3. Played individually, each works fine. Played at the same time sends Sonar to 'not responding' world. I've gotten blue screens twice. had to restart in safe mode both times to get a normal restart. Ugh...
 
I've set it up 2 different ways, both w/ same ugly result. 1) Plug midi out from TD-3 to RME Midi In. Select RME midi in for both midi track's inputs.  2) Insert a 3rd midi track, select RME midi in. Output Midi Yoke 1 fromit, select Midi Yoke 1 as input to both midi tracks.
 
I have only the hats up in SD2 right now, and they are deleted from SSD. Is there a different way I should be triggering both engines? Thanks very much - Shep
