Horns

I'm about to lay down some horns on a track which I did originally using some cheesy samples from a Casio FZ1, I need to get a "tower of power" sound. I have EWQL-Gold, however, I'm afraid that's not going to get me the sound I'm looking for. I'm not looking for an orchestra here so much as Tower of Power/Chicago type of horns.

Does anyone have any good recommendations?

I have dimpro and rapture too And some stuff from an old Native Core install (core 3 I think?) So maybe Kon-something? Does anyone have any other recommendations?

Please pray for Foxwolfen, pray for peace for him. And an end to any deception, anger, and hatred around him or influencing him.

The best horns I have are sound fonts from sonic implants. You have to work with the sound font player a bit to get the attack and delay and stuff like that right, but once you perfect say the trumpet, you can save the settings, same with the sax etc.

Lots of people have told me that sound fonts are "old school", but when I play the cd with them on it, they can't tell that they are not real instruments. Of course, people in this forum will call me on that, but the average citizen is not as critical, and my playback system is top notch. Even in the car or through headphones, the sound fonts come out superior.

There are specific libraries that are set up with the "tower of power" style horns. As Al mentioned you can change the attack and release to get that sound if you are willing to take the time.  Just like 2 differrent people can pick up a violin and one plays it in a symphonic style and another saws it like a fiddle, the difference is in the attack.  EW is set up for the symphonic style.

Ah yeah, 2500 dollars? Ahhh no, LOL!

This thing looks pretty cool? Anyone have any experience with it? And evidently there's some kind of a controller you blow in to and bite down on?

Herb, " the difference is in the attack." Yeah, my ex for instance? VERY big on the attack, she's more big band? I would like to find a nice symphonic gal.

my yamaha dx 27s has a breath controller, but I never used it. I found the sensitivity to be less than impressive.

This is a bit pricey but I heard it's good:

Check out the demos on that site to see if they would work, but it's $500.  Not sure what kind of money you're looking to drop.

Yeah, I saw that that one, it looks pretty damn cool, but I'm not sure I would get enough out of it to justify the price. My music isn't that horny? Even though the composer? Well let's just say, if I were part of a big band? I would be in the brass section?

Yeah I bit the bullet and got my mojo risin... At sweetwater, it's only 450, not 500. And only 399 at  www.audiomidi.com?  Maybe I'm hornier than I thought? Thanks for the recommendation, this looks like some cool $h!+ I can't wait!
