Customize mouse wheel behaviour?
Hi Is there a way to customize the behaviour of the mouse’s scroll wheel? For example is it possible to change the default so that you can zoom in and out horizontally by using the scroll wheel alone, rather than scroll + Ctrl + Alt. Thanks.

As much as I'd like to be able to I don't think so (I'm used to Vegas and still try it in Sonar only to realize it's only up and down vertically). I hope I'm proven wrong though!

Yeah, I used to use Tracktion and it's a habit I can't drop from that host. Surely most people would need a horizontal zoom, which in Sonar needs two hands, more often than a vertical one which needs one!

My problem is I use Vegas almost every day so it'll be hard to break the habit....you may find yesterday's discussion interesting...I haven't had a chance to work with either of these but will definitely give it a shot. http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2002898

Hi, Marshall - I'm not understanding. The controls in the corners of Sonar windows have zooms, one for vertical, one for horizontal, and they just involve one hand and a left click when you grab the bar in-between the two magnifying glasses. That isn't what you're talking about? rbowser

When you get used to being able to do that it's very frustrating to click on one of those (or both separately) little icons....I find myself sticking my tongue out trying to hold my mouth just right.

I'd like to customize the mouse wheel as well with X1c. Rather than move up/down tracks (I just use cursor keys) I'd prefer to move clips left and right without altering the NOW time. I assume there is no way to change the behaviour right now.

Hey Alex, maybe I'm misunderstanding you but you can move clips on the timeline without moving the now time in X1 with the smart tools. Just locate your mouse toward the lower half of a clip until the icon turns to a 4 way arrow thingy and drag it where you want.

I would also like to be able to customize mouse behavior. Zooming in and out with the mouse wheel is such a common paradigm that it is almost a standard among interfaces. It would be nice to be able to do the same thing in SONAR X1. . . . It would also be nice if this dodgy forum software didn't strip the carriage returns out of my posts. Forced wall of text = fail.
