Impact Soundworks' Shreddage FX

So I've got Impact Soundworks' Shreddage running just fine in Sonar 8.5.3.  The only problem is, a lot of the time I am wanting to use more than one Guitar FX on different parts of the song

I know of a few ways to deal with it... but I'm wondering if there are better ways to go about doing this.  Here's what I've thought of so far:
  1. Bus Mute Automation on the FX busses, with the Guitar audio track routed to all of the FX busses.
  2. Automate send levels on the FX busses, with the same routing as 1.
The only problem with both of these options is that I can't be using the effects silmontaneously without using both effects at once.  Any tips or tricks on how to get more sounds out of my Impact Soundworks?

Another option is to insert it as a clip effect, different settings on different clips. That, of course, assumes 1 clip per part and no double-tracking. Otherwise, it would get messy and CPU-intensive real quick.

Personally, I would clone the tracks, put different effects on each and add a volume envelope to each track to fade from one to the other. I would do this rather than using FX busses because it gives me the option of freezing the tracks to lighten the CPU load.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
