Steinberg Roomworks equivalent for Sonar

Since I bought Cubase (I still have it, I just never use it now compared to Sonar) I absolutely loved the Roomworks reverb plugin. Its main selling point for me was the Hold feature which basically made the reverb time infinite: "Pressing this button freezes the reverb buffer in an infinite loop (yellow circle around button). You can create some interesting pad sounds using this feature." It did just that, it sounded good, and it didn't hog the CPU. Of course the plugin is Cubase only so it can't be loaded into anything else.

In a nutshell my question is, does any equivalent of Roomworks exist for other DAWs (free or not)? Or are there better techniques for this? Thanks.

(I should probably note that that isn't the only reason why I liked Roomworks.)

If roomworks is a VST or DX plugin it should work in Sonar also. Most plugins are not part of the DAW software, they should appear in any application that uses that type of plugin.

Unfortunately no, it's not the case with Cubase; the majority of FX plugins (including Roomworks) are part of the Cubase Plug-in Set.vst3 file.

Humm... I wonder if you could use Cubase as a host and use the sound cards mixer to route the return back to Sonar.  You could at least set it to 100% wet and record the output to a stereo Sonar track.

    Isn't Cubase rewire compatible?

Sadly very reduced studio equipment as it is... ASUS G750J, 8 gb RAM, Win8, Roland Quad Capture.

Yes (like most Steinberg products). Did you have an idea in mind?
