Help! Cakewalk Says My Sigma Tel Audio Sound Card Doesn't Recognize My Audio Format
I have both Cakewalk Version 2 and Cubase LE on my laptop computer. I have used both fine until recent problems. When I call up an audio project (or import one) in Cubase, it comes up and plays back fine through my laptop speakers, no matter the song. But it won't work anymore in my Cakewalk program. Each time I start the program, I have a warning box that reads "Sigma Tel Audio" (my sound card) is not compatible with the CURRENT AUDIO FORMAT." What does that mean? It's the only driver I have on my laptop and Cubase reads it fine. I once had my TASCAM 122-L audio/midi interface driver installed as well, but I uninstalled it, thinking this would help to avoid conflicts. In Cakewalk, I tried checking the midi in, midi out options and the input in, input out options again. They say Sigma Tel Audio for everything, which should mean it recognizes it. I made sure they were highlighted. Yet it still says that driver "does not recognize" the "current audio format." No problem in Cubase LE. In Cakewalk, It allows me to ignore using Sigma Tel Audio or to "use it anyway." I've tried both options but no good. Any suggestions? I still have my interface driver uninstalled as of now.
