Kinetic 2 won't install on Windows 7

Can't install Kinetic 2 on Windows 7. I tried running it at as if it was in previous version of windows and I also gave myself permission to access a certain folder. I keep getting the error file mfc42u.dll could not be opened. No where does it say that this program isn't compatible for Windows 7 so this is very frustrating as I have just bought this software to upgrade. Also the regular Kinetic installed fine on my new comp. Help Please.

    I do have Kinetic installed on Windows 7 and it works ok for as much as I have used it.  Perhaps customer support will be able to help.

    Frankly, I doubt customer service would offer any support, considering this product is discontinued legacy software! Also, it was out well before win7 even existed and therefore the reason W7 isn't listed in the specs!

    I'm certain CW would rather deal with issues related to their actively developed software especially since they didn't develop Kinetic for Vista or Win7.  No harm in asking them, but keep in mind it was developed for XP only... even if it does manage to work on later op's.

    Which is true, but it NEVER says what its NOT compatible with- thats backwards logic.  They only say what they ARE compatible with- otherwise it would be crazy.  Also, if you JUST bought this- well, I don't really know what to say to that.  Kinetic 2 was released in 2004 and is discontinued now and was made for XP.  Some folks seem to get it to work on newer operating systems, but in reality its not supported, so there wouldn't be any kind of help available for that.  Didn't you check the system requirements before purchase?  Thats the most important thing of all- with any software.  I hope you are able to work it out, but you have to keep in mind that it is legacy software now.

    Browse the files on the install disc & run the autorun from there...I heard this works w/P5v2 which has seen the same fate as Kinetic.  Not to rub it in, but I installed Kinetic 2 on my W7 64bit hp laptop today w/out any issues.
