V20 Driver Install Problem

Hi all.

I am trying to reinstall the V20 driver but it doesn't seem to be working. The V20 was acting up so I uninstalled the Guitar Tracks and the V20 driver, but when I try to reinstall the V20 driver, I get a message that says that I need to uninstall the driver first.  I click on the uninstall icon and it says that the uninstall was successful and that the computer will reboot.

I try the install again when it reboots but I get the same message that says that I need uninstall the driver.
I checked in Control Panel and the V20 is not listed, so I think that it has been removed.
Any suggestions before I box up the unit and return it?

Thanks

Did you disconnect the V-20 before you re-installed the V-20 driver (i.e. install the V-20 driver BEFORE you connected up the V-20 again)?
Some of these USB-based drivers need to be in place before the hardware is connected.

Microsoft Surface Book w/ Surface dock, dual 24-inch HD displays,
Sonar Platinum, THD 4, GuitarRig, Amplitube, (Kontakt4), Garritan PO, Trillian Bass 1.3,  Roland Octa-Capture, Waves Gold & various Waves, PSP and T-Racks plugins.

I had this same issue. There are registry settings that are not being removed. I actually figured this out while waiting on the phone for Cakewalk support. I told the tech what I thought the issue was and he waited for me to do my thing and once they were removed I was able to re-install and all went smoothly.

He also said he would relay this to support team in case they had others with the same issue.
There are around 7-8 entries in the registry that need to be removed. You may want to call them and ask what they are. Sorry I don't remember but I will try to and post here for you if I can.
