1. turn on the grid and put it at measure or whole note-
(make sure on the grid options that it is on "move to", not "move by" and that it is on high strength so the clips snap right to the downbeat). then drag the left of the clip to the downbeat of the first measure, and the right of the clip to the downbeat of the measure that will follow the second of the measure of this clip.
2. drag a copy of the 2 measure clip over to the right of the first clip, making it a 4 measure segment. Then, move those 2 clips over to the right of themselves making it an
3. Highlight both clips and then right click on one of them and select bounce to clip.
4. repeat step 1 as far as draggin the ends to the beggining and end of the measures.
Helpful Hint- after you have made this 4 bar clip, you can right click it and select "make groove clip"- if it doesnt work right 9 the clip doesnt stay as 4 bars, right click and press "clip properties". elect the audio stretching tab and then check mark in groove quantize and in the "beats in clip" box, put 32, which the amount of beats in an 8 bar clip.
Another way is to just do step one to the clip and then do the helpful hint to that 2 bar clip but if you need to put the amount of beats in to get it right, put in 8 beats, which, of course is the amount beats in 2 measures in a 4/4 time signature.
All this bing said, I was assuming it was a 4/4 time sig. Of course in a 3/4 time sig for example, there are only 3 beats in measure, which would change how many beats you imput in order to do the helpful hint if you need to do it in the clip properties to get it right.
Confused yet?
So much easier to explain by showing it-
