I listened to Help Me Jesus on top of your playlist. Very nicely played and mix sound good to me on computer speakers. Really like the sax and harmonica. I think you have a very good voice for this song as well, sounds very real and honest.

Sadly very reduced studio equipment as it is... ASUS G750J, 8 gb RAM, Win8, Roland Quad Capture.

No warning necessary.  I can't think of why anyone would need to be warned about a gospel tune.  Never apologize for your beliefs or political views.  If anyone is offended by your song tell them to F.O. and see if that offends them.

Great vibe,  now if you could just get Manhattan Transfer to use this as lead-in to "Operator" you would be all set!

Organ, guitars, and great vocals..  What's not to like?!!  Love it!

I would opted for a big crescendo ending, but it's a small nit pic.

Not sure why we had a waring either sounds like a typical bluesy subject.

Besides its not the "J" word or faith that bothers me it is religion in all its man made ugliness that really makes me see red.

    Cool tune Frank nicely performed.

    PS enjoyed "Bad sign" too.

You certainly have the knack of producing a very natural sound Frank. Not a style I listen to a lot to be honest, so not much to compare it with, but everything sounds as it should to me. Can't see how it could be done much better anyhow.

Great tune, Frank. You are the 'Real Deal' my friend.

In addition to your outstanding guitar and vox I

really love the keyboards. Nice transition into 'Bad Sign', too.

How dare you say "Just" in a song.

I am so offended right now I can barely think straight.

It's guys like you that tear music apart. Wars have been started over less and rightly so.

I am now going to refuse to ever set foot in this site again. You will never again see my face in this establishment.

Awesome job once again! I love the sax solo and the slide solo that follows. The harp tops it off well too. The mix is perfect as always too.

    Frank,

Your songs and mixes set a standard. Great blues, very fluid and natural. Lots going on in the mix but everything is well tucked in. The vocals sound a little over-effected to me, like they aren't quite in the same place as the rest of the instruments, could be a preference thing though. Background vox blend very well with the lead vox. (Maybe the sax could come up a touch too). Nice work. 'Bad sign' is well done too. EDIT: More than well done actually, that guitar tone is outstanding.

Great tune.  Great playing.  Great voice (especially on Born Under a Bad Sign and Gone tomorrow - that is as far as I have gotten). However, this song sounds like it was recorded live.  If that was the effect you were going after super.  But it all sounds a bit muddy to me.  Maybe too much reverb or you need to use some low and high cut filters in order to carve out better frequency space for each instrument.

What guitar / amp are you using on Born Under a Bad Sign?

On my third song now.  Motown in the 70's!  REALLY nice stuff!  Your CD is on my buy list (and I am both picky and cheap).  All sound like they were recorded live.  But I'm liking it!

Another home run Frank.  This number reminds me of the style of some of the gospel numbers that a couple of Florida guys (James and Bobby Purify) did back in the '60's.

I remember the "J" wars, so to speak.  Jesus is just all right with me so play on brother.  I've used up all of my superlatives on your songs over the last couple years.  You ARE the real deal.  Can't have anythig to do with all that "live" music you play does it?  This is a wonderful tune, Frank,.  You set a high standard for yourself and meet or exceed it every time.  I've decided to ask my wife if I can go to your house and ask you to come out and play.  Maybe this year!  LOL!

Ah!  Finally a real Louisiana blues Salvation-song (not the seminary blue-grass fakes) ... This is extremely powerful!

This extoles real salvation from sin and the saved soul's response (baptism and bible) ... and blows away anything I've heard here of late (my cheezy stuff included).

... your forceful word-hooks will last forever in my heart!

Nice song and great performances!! Love the organ and this is probably some of the best drums sounds I've heard from you.

I'd bring up the lead vox and the harmonica a tad.

EDIT - upon 2nd listen - nevermind on the vocals. But I do think you should bump up the harmonica!

So true. We all need a little hep once in a while.

I've also noticed that you keep squeezing Reid S. the right way. Experience, there's nothing like it. The vocals keeps getting better and better. Where's the choir? You know, the girls dancing in unison and going "hep me Jesus". Not that's it's needed, but it would enhance the visuals for a video maybe? Piano, organ and all that other stuff sounds great for this genre. My JBL's are dancing to this tune.

What can I say? Keep on doing what it is that you do so well Frank. Bravo!!
