First I've heard of yours.  I liked it.  It sounds familiar, but it stands on its own.  That's a good thing.  Vocal fit the song perfectly.

Retro Garage band genre (if there be such a genre)?!  Top notch doleful guitars!  (I'd love to collab with you for those sweet tones!)

TBH: This commences, lyrically, as eternal love ... but then gets darkly complex with the emphatic "kingdom" hook.  So I'm baffled and don't get apocalyptic hooks very well (I'm old and stupid and probably not making any sense).

IOWs, The intro pining love aimed at 'her' might have continued strait into the chorus ... or at least returned to redeem her there ... in the chorus.  JMHO.

Also, the organish spots could be louder.

Well, this has to be the first retro blues rock country song to ever use the word "actualize", so you get some bonus points right there.

It has a mood, for sure. Your vocal could use a hint of reverb, which will make it more lonesome.

Your vocal gets lost during the chorus. And it sounds distorted on the loud part of it.

Loved the guitar and drum playing on this.

I like this song and it's raw attitude. The guitars are beautifully panned and I like the spacing of the drums.

    Very nice.

Only critique is I can't really get the vox clearly. If there was a way to make them stand out more in the verses that would be good for me.

At the end, when you open up "love is true" I get the vox right up in my face. Maybe that's the point of the earlier subtlety.

    Good song.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.  Will work on getting the vocal a bit cleaner.  That mid range is very busy.

If anyone else thinks the organ should be a bit more forward please let me know.

Sounds like real live drums!  I like the whole sound you've got.  Very retro and full of bite.  Playing is great.  Mix sounds good to my ears.

Hello Ctek.  This piece definately fills that grungy, garagy, desperation blues category right up. Great execution of a live feel with soulful guitars and raw drums. Your voice has a smoky scratchy quality that fits the arrangement well. The sparce organ part is nice iceing.  I'm having a difficult time hearing your voice and the words in some places are lost in the mix .  So, get the vox track up on top with more presence on the eq, and maybe a little reverb so we can hear the passion you wrote into this tune...............Waiting to hear what you do...........Ron

Very nice, very nice indeed!!!  Starts out with a kind of Neil Young feel (the guitar work) --- all except the voice --- yours is much better (oops, no offence to any NY fans) and in fact you sound very good on this number -- very expressive!  The song builds nicely, which gives it that retro mid- to - late '60's feel.  I particularly like that it ends with the way that it started --- that moanful, lonesome feel.
    Kudos.

Posted a new version - it is better but still a bit weak in regards to intelligibility.

I left the "pitched by the waves" section a bit in the mud on purpose.

I re-recorded some of the vocal and cut everything in the vox below 220 hz.  I also added a 3 db bump around 2500k.

I cleaned up some other minor bits - the ending fade sounds much better.  I also cut the rhythm guitar out below 220 hz or so on the verses.  Now that I think about it I should do the same on the chorus. Added a bit more reverb to the vocal.
