Weird conflict with AVG(free) and Malwarebytes Antimalware - false positive virus warning

Hi all.

Well, I DID have a virus when I booted up my new Win7(64bit) computer after a couple of bad USB-stick introductions.  It was this horrible, "winlogon.exe" virus in combination with "XxX.xXx" virus (no, not from porn sites...get your minds out of the gutter!).

I managed (with a lot of work) to beat the virus out with safe-mode runs of AVG, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Super-Anti Spyware (the last one being the best program out there, I feel) and a couple of other things.

BUT THEN I get this weird thing when I restart (from a 'turned-off' position) AVG free.  Malwarebytes detects a virus called "XXX.XXX" upon AVG booting up.  Now I get it every time I boot up.  I have run countless scans and the only thing I can figure is that Malwarebytes Anti-Malware seems to think AVG, when it boots, is a virus, because it runs in the background.

Anybody else out there have a similar issue with these two items/softwares?

Please and thanks re any comments.

Martin B.

boot in safe mode and scan to get rid of it perhaps.. and like older versions of win.. you MIGHT need to turn of system restore to get access to it.

as for malware removal.. spybot / malware bytes are the main 2 I know of / use

also, hopefully your running  a decent firewall

Do this right away. Install another Anti virus program and run a scan. If you have comcast cable, you get mcafee for free or any other AV program and run that and see what it says.
There are limitations to free programs.

The free Microsoft Security Essentials is a very good and popular program.  It is rated very high and even above McAfee and Norton and on a par with Karpasky.

Sonar tech support says McAfee is known to interfere with Sonar so avoid that.
