Why does PRV open controller lanes when nothing is there?
I've got a GPO Violin track that has nothing but midi notes and CC:1 events - all on Chanel 6. But when I open up the PRV, it shows additional controller lanes, like Wheel (chan:3), ChanAft (Chan:3), CC:7 (chan:3), CC:91(chan:3). I can close these by pressing the "-" , but when I open up the PRV again, all these controller lanes are back. This track is Channel 6, why is it showing all these lanes?

I often wonder about this myself. I notice that when I have made "MIDI CLIPS" from my performances, there seems to be more of these UNUSED CC lanes. It's a real PITA. Jim

I cloned the Track, without cloning the events. So it is an empty track and when I open the PRV the only lane showing is the Velocity lane. Then I copied the midi clips over to the new track. Now when I open the PRV I see all these extra lanes again. But in the Event list there is nothing but notes and CC:1 events. There has got to be something in the midi clips that I can't see in the event list or PRV that is causing these extra lanes. But I should be able to see everything in the event list.??

Apparently, this is some type of GLITCH exacerbated by having midi clips. Perhaps modified in Version 9, I hope. Jim

DMX try dont click on "-", only erase additional controller lanes with erase tool although seem there nothing, and then click on "-". I tried that and it didn't work. I used the erase tool on each erroneous lane and then clcked on "-". Closed PRV , reopened, and all the lanes were back. This must be a glitch However I did finally make it work - my work-a-round was to clone the track without events, then copy the notes over separately, and then copy the CC:1 data over separately. This created a clean track.

Go into the two drop down lists in the PRV veiw up in the left of the veiw and uncheck the show controller lanes line I beleive. then save the project. I think that's it. Take a look and get back to me.

Craig - Ok - I was going to do what you suggested. I re-opened the project, thawed GPO, and un-archived the track that was causing the trouble. And all the lanes were gone. It was a clean track. I don't know - it could have been when trying to erase like DMX said, but simply closing the PRV and reopening the PRV didn't do it. Your method of closing and reopening the project seems to have been the key.

This seems an old bug so far not been corrected. Here with Sonar X3 the same problem... A CC 3 (Chan 1) lane in PRV has no data, though it insists on appearing every time I open the PRV. How to remove this controller lane permanently?

I actually found a bug and figured out how bypass it. Simply clone the track, it will not work. The blank lane keeps popping up, with nothing inside. I created a new midi track from scratch, and I manually copied all the clips to this new track. When I open this new track in the PRV, the CC 3 lane appears, but now shows a lost event there. Manually deleting the event, I close and open the PRV for this new track and the CC 3 lane no longer appears. Then, for some reason, some events are lost in the Sonar, not even appearing in the Event List.

You should open a Problem Report and upload a stripped down copy of the bad project for the Bakers to analyze. May be a known issue, but I've never seen it.
