Rapture 1.2.2 upgrade problem

Looking for a little clarity...

Running SONAR PE 8.5.3 64 bit, and I have upgraded Rapture from 1.1 to the newly release 1.2.2 upgrade.  I ran both the 32 and 64 bit setups, but it doesn't look like the installed dropped the 64 bit version anywhere.

When I look in the VST directory under Cakewalk I see Rapture.Dll, as well as Rapture32LE.Dll, and Rapture64LE.dll, these latter two coming with the Cakewalk 8.5 PE.

Also when I look at the "Insert soft syth" menu in Sonar, I see "Rapture, Rapture32LE, and Rapture64LE".  There is no Rapture64.

Any way to be sure I have 64bit Rapture installed?  Does anyone know what a good configuration looks like?

    From the download page (http://www.cakewalk.com/support/kb/reader.aspx?ID=2007013167):

    Compatibility Notes:
    • The Audio Unit (AU) versions of Rapture and Rapture LE cannot coexist on the same OS X system, the most recently installed version will be available.
    • When updating Rapture LE from the VS Production Pack on Windows you may end up with multiple file names.  The latest Rapture LE is named 'Rapture32LE'
    • 64-bit Cubase users may experience issues when attempting to use the 32-bit versions of Rapture/Rapture LE.  We recommend using the native 64-bit VSTi.  32-bit Cubase users should not experience these issues.
    • When installing Rapture on a 64-bit Windows system only the 64-bit or 32-bit version can be installed at one time, if multiple installations occur only the most recently installed version will appear in your host.
I assume you can't install both versions anymore. I've been holding off updating till I determined if this is true or not. If it is, I'm wondering if one could install the 64-bit version and use jBridge to bridge it to Sonar x86.

You nailed it Don.  Thanks much for the help.

Completely uninstalled Rapture then put only the 64 bit version on and then installed the update.

Weird though, that Rapture LE would have 32 and 64 bit versions co-exist but Rapture would not.

Only minor issue now is that I still have a Rapture entry in Sonar under the "Insert Soft Synth" menu pointing to the now uninstalled Rapture 32 version.  When clicked it says "synth may not be properly installed".  Well duh... I've rescanned my synths a couple times now but the entry sticks.  This is a minor problem though.

    Thanks again for the assist.

I'm glad you got it working. I would be interested in hearing how you like the update and if it fixes the stability problems that folks have encountered. To get rid of the old Rapture entry, you could try Reset All VST Plug-ins in Options->Global->VST Plug-ins and rescan (though this also remove any settings you may have modified in your plug-ins). This allows you to basically start over. Another, less destructive idea is just to use the Plug-in Manager to exclude the old entry to keep it from showing up in the Insert Soft Synth menu.
