Win7 Home 64Bit vs. Pro 64Bit?

Quite simply, if I'm running Sonar 8.5.3 with a I/O interface that has 64 Bit drivers, what's the difference, other than price between the two, and is the $40 difference worth it?  Also, if I'm running a small residential PC Maintenance biz is there a preference?

Thanks,
KC

The difference is features. The basic engine is the same, but you pay extra for things that pro can do that home cannot. Sonar should run the same on both, but if you are doing things like synchronizing files to a laptop, running xp compatible software that is not Win 7 compatible (performance alert), networking via domain server, backing up to a network share, or logging onto and controlling the computer remotely, it is built in to Pro but not home.

IIRC, the home version has a max ram GB of 16? This could be an issue for some people in the future.

So 16 GB will not be enough for the next couple of years?

Maybe, but I'm just the messenger. Just saying that home has that limitation.

Unless you're planning on adding more than 16GB of memory, or require (and can use) the virtual Windows XP environment, Windows 7 Home is just fine. Since I have installed Windows 7, I have had no need or desire to use Windows XP.
