Protools 8 - Sonar 8.5 p session transfer question

Hi all!

Idecided to make the move a while back and get my self a vs700 and vs 700c

I had recently bought a digi 003 and protools but it was so problomatic I decided to sell up and go for sonar

Got my new computer yesterday and everything is runing smooth I am so glad I made the move :D

My question is i made one full track with pro tools and befoe i got  rid of everything i just coyed the whole file on to a drive so i could maybe use it at a later date

I would love to be able to re mix that track in sonar but unfortuanatly i am new to recordingand didnt have the first clue and am still learning

In the folder I have every single take I did in the session as i didnt delite them as I went along  a mistake i wont make again ;(

Any ideas as to what I can do here I think I might be screwed and cant do anything as i dont know one take from the next  ;(

I wish there was a way I could just load it right in to sonar and take off from where I finished (guess I can dream )

Thanks all

Norrie

import all the audio files to separate trax, select all the files and load them all at once

    +1 to Chregg

You can also open the folder and then selecting all tracks by clicking CTRL-A and then just drag and drop all the files at one time. Sonar will import them into separate tracks.

FYI Set your Global Import Properties. Go to options > global > audio data and make sure the import bit depth is set to 32 and the render bit depth is set to 32.

sorry I am very new to all this

When i loaded a protools session all the takes I was useing were there infront of me on the edit window and split up over my tracks but previous takes were down the right hand side and I could audition them and drop them in.

I only need the stuff that i was useing in the session on the edit window the previous takes I never delited and I should have.  so looking at all the audio I dont know what is what and theres hundreds of them

So if i load all the takes from the protools session i saved on a esternal drive the session in sonar just shows every take i did in that song/

I know if i took the session and loaded into protools it would load and I could then see what bits of audio I was useing but I no longer have that option and know no one with audio recording gear that can do it.

I think am screwed was just hopeing there may be a way

it will load them in, whether you consolodated the project, we don't know, if you haven't trimmed the audio files then they will line up in time, but if you haven't you'll have re-arrange the tracks to time, audio snap would help there

p.s if you could take the files to a pro-tools machine, you can either consolodate the files or save it as an omf file, and load that into sonar
