Yes, you can mix MIDI and audio.  There are tutorials in the Help section of HomeStudio that will teach you how to use softsynths and to record audio.
Really, that's as far as it will get you.  The ability to make a decent CD should take a few years of experience, learning from forums, friends, books, magazines, trial & error, etc....
You don't really need a special PC, but it helps to have something high-powered and exclusive to recording.  The soundcard, monitors, and musical talent will play a much bigger part in your success.

    Hi Edgardo -

I would suggest you search and read EVERYTHING you can find on these forums first. Whatever questions you have, try to search for the topic in the search bar.

I would also suggest buying a book or two - maybe start with 'Making Music with SONAR Home Studio' by Craig Anderton. It's a very useful book.

If you are a beginner to 'Mixing' - i would also recommend 'The Art of Mixing' (David Gibson). You will either love that book or hate it - it really helped me though - just to get me started.

    Good luck
    Dave
