Can the Step Sequencer Note Names be Refreshed manually?

Some instruments (notably DR-008 and Beat Scape) show the assigned instrument names in the Step Sequencer.  Very cool.

However, if I change something, it appears that I have to close the Step Sequencer and then  reopen it in order to see the updated names.

It's not a big fuss, but it would be cool if there was a way to force the Step Sequencer to rescan the note names from the plug in.  I haven't seen this command, have I missed it or is it just not there?
