Found my answer on another thread.... Don't use Autorun. Browse DVD and select Setup.exe. Running VST adapter 4 after install correctly registered Dimension.

The server won't let me create a new thread so I'll piggy-back on this one. I'm having a problem with P5 2.5.1 under Win 7 x64. The problem is that when I try to save a project P5 crashes, every time, without fail. Any ideas?

Are you running P5 as administrator? I run P5 v2.5.1 on Win 7x64 and it works fine for me. Perhaps it's a buggy plugin. Try opening a new project and loading only one "out of the box" plugin (effect or instrument) and saving that. Do the same thing with plug-ins you purchased. If they save, chances are it's one of the plugins in the project you are trying to save. When you run the vst adapter does anything pop up giving you the option to "disable" or "use anyway?"

You know... come to think of it I did get one notification when scanning for VST's about 1 plugin... I think it was Magix VariVerb Pro. I didn't disable it, but then again I have never used it in any P5 projects. I'll try to disable it and see if that makes any difference. EDIT: Nope, that didn't help. Also tried running as administrator, no dice there either.

Does it crash if you immediately save a new blank project (no tracks no synths no effects)?

techead Does it crash if you immediately save a new blank project (no tracks no synths no effects)? Just tried that and it saved no problem with a blank project. I'm opening some old projects to see what effects I have open in them.

Ok. I found what causes P5 to crash. It's Hypersonic 2, which is the meat of every single one of my old tracks. Any ideas on how to get around this?

If you go to the control panel and select the add/remove programs options, do you get the option to "repaire" hypersonic? Otherwise maybe re-install? Does Hypersonic crash in other hosts or just P5?
