Repeating hiss in master

Every 20 seconds or so when working with Music Creator 5, there's a loud hiss that comes from the Master track and lasts for about three seconds. I can't figure out how to change anything on the Master from Track view either. I'm new to this game. Does anyone have any idea what's causing this hiss? Can someone please tell me how to adjust the pan and volume and effects things on the master from track view? Pretty please, with sugar on top and a cherry? I'll even throw in some sprinkles.

yes, you haven't registered your IK Guitar Amp sim.  open it by opening the FX bin of the GUITAR track in your default project and then double clicking on the amp sim.  it will bring up a window telling you how to register it.

once its registered it will stop making the noise every few seconds.

Are you using the Amplitube plug-in?
Until it's registered with Ampltube, it makes a periodic noise.
If not, fill us in on your system; how fast, how much RAM, what operating system and sound card.

Thanks for the swift reply. I got as far as opening the effects bin in the guitar track, but can't find anything labelled anything like amp sim.

Can you tell me how to adjust the master from track view?

Thank you very much. I turned off the Amplitude effect and the hiss has stopped. Guess I'll figure out how to register it....my computer barely has enough RAM for everything on it. I get virtual memory notices--well I did until I uninstalled some stuff last night.

Hewlitt Packard E-series, 1 gig RAM, not sure about soundcard, pretty sure it's HP factory.

    Thanks again

    Thanks again.

When I double click Amplitude to register it, it says Music Creator 5 was supposed to come with a little card with a serial number on it. I received no such card. What should I do?

ok - then check your email.  it should have been sent to you in an email.  if you can't find it there, log into the cakewalk e-store and click on MY REGISTRATIONS and the serial number will be listed there.

Can you tell me how to adjust the master from track view?

You click on the little arrow (circled in red) at the bottom to show all the buses. Expand the master bus so all the controls are visible.
The volume control is the one in yellow.
The pan control is in green and the effects bin is in blue. Right-click in the effects bin to insert any mastering effects you want to use, such as a compresser/limiter or perhaps a reverb.
Note: Image is from SONAR Home Studio 6, but your GUI should be similar.

Do you mean that there should have been a card with MC 5 that has the Amplitube serial number, or the MC 5 number?

ok - I just checked and the serial number for amplitube is not in the e-store.

I was pretty sure, tho, that the serial number did not come on a card - but that it was listed in the pop up window that comes up before you've registered it after you double click on the amplitube in the FX bin.  are you sure the serial number is not there with the instructions to click on a link to register it?

When I double-click the Amplitude effect, a pop-up says "To register click next." When I click nest, another window opens and says that a card whould've been included with my Music Creator 5 software with a serial # for Amplitude on it. The serial # for the MC5 software did not match the format of this Amp. serial #

OK - but on the window that pops up to say "to register click next" - what else does that window say?

It says "Welcome to the Registration Wizard" or something to that effect. A generic paragraph about licensing too.

If you bought a boxed set of MC5 then look on the paper sleeve that the disk was in it should have the amplitude registration number on the back.

I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!

otherwise if you can't find it you'll have to email or call cakewalk and tell them you can't find your amplitube serial number.  if you can't find it that's the only way to get another one.
