Synching OLD gear that don't have drivers

How on earth do I synch my old Yamaha QY700 with the VS100 and Sonar VS?
Am I correct in thinking that the VS100 doesn't have midi out capabilities.(It seems to be solely for V-link)
And with no drivers for the QY700(I had to install a driver for my Roland Fantom to synch with Sonar)how is it possible?
I've tried linking Sonar-Fantom-QY700, but it's beyond my limited midi 'know-how' and I've had no success.
