Fort Worth TX

I'm headed to Fort Worth this weekend.
There seems to be several regular CH posters in the area.
Do any of you play anywhere, if not what do you recommend for
music or other site seeing? Or food.

    Hi JohnoL,
I live in Ft. Worth - as far as the music scene - downtown Fort Worth (Sundance Square) during the summer has a lot of live music, it's hit or miss if you're going to get Country, Rock, or whatever.  usually 8.0's Restaurant has someone playing live on the patio.  they have decent food and drinks, too.

and the website for sundance square itself (the nightlife area of Ft. Worth)

another couple of places in the square that I can think of that has live music from time to time is The Flying Saucer http://www.sundancesquare.com/fun_stuff/The_Flying_Saucer.aspx
and the Scat Jazz Lounge http://www.sundancesquare.com/fun_stuff/Scat_Jazz_Lounge.aspx

Billy Bob's in Texas one of the big name venues for concerts, dancing, drinks and it's in the "Cowtown" Northside area of downtown (north of the Trinity).

food:  gotta have some Texas BBQ!  My favorite is Cousin's BBQ.  they have several locations all over the metroplex, 2 in Ft. Worth, one on Bryant Irvin Road and the other on McCart Ave.

I don't play live myself - I sing in church and record for that purpose.  the other guys I know in the DFW area don't play live on a normal basis, I think some of them might play occassionally.  I know AT's wife's band plays regularly, but I'm not sure where.

oh - and you should see the daily cattle drive in downtown fort worth and maybe ride the tarantula from ft. worth to granbury and back.  check out the downtown fort worth visitors center or google tarantula train.  you should also see some of the shops and restaurants and bars around the northside area.  it's all cowboy stuff (that's where billy bob's is as well).
    have a good trip!!!

There is nothing like the food in the DFW area.  Everytime I've been there (years apart), I tried to eat my own weight in steaks, burritos, ribs, enchiladas, steaks, cheeseburgers, and steaks.  With bacon.

I always had someone showing me where to go, so I can't be of any use for recommending Where to go.  I can only recommend that you stuff yourself beyond all reason.

    I'm getting hungry now.

And Paris has the best breakfast in town IMHO.

    I had the brocolli enchiladas.
The breakfast is good at Paris and I like the mom and pop atmosphere.

I have a friend who likes Claudes, I've never eaten there. (Vegetarian)
