Where to buy Sonar 8.5 x64?
I currently have Sonar 8.5 Studio 32bit. I am upgrading my p/c soon and was trying to find the 64bit version of Sonar on the Cakewalk Store page but couldn't. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

C'mon.... You don't really know that both 32 and 64 bits versions of SONAR are on the same installation DVD...?
...If you own SONAR disc, you already own BOTH versions....

If you have 8.5 studio all you need to do is to reinstall with what you have and select the 64bit instead of the 32bit as far as I know. I believe both Studio and Professional have that capability. You do not have to change or uninstall your 32bit version either. You can keep both on your system. It does not take very much extra space. I flip between 32 and 64 depending on what plugins I need or have used on a project.

Actually, no I wasn't aware of that at all. I have Sonar 8 on disc and upgraded to 8.5 by download. Would I still have the 64bit option since it was a download?

Just click on the downloaded install file and a window should come up very early in the process asking if you want 32 or 64bit

Sure... when you run the installer on 64 bit system, it will ask you for versions t be installed.... ENJOY the BEST DAW out there...!

I think you'll only get asked the 32 vs 64 bit question by the installer if you have Win 64bit as the OS. So, if you current PC is only 32-bit that may explain why you didn't notice this before.

Welcome, mate.... Anyway, please understand that the install screens will show you both options ONLY when you run it on 64bit systems.... on 32bit ones, instead, it will just install the unique possible version (32bit, 'course...) without prompting... as it's the only possible choice.... In short: YOU JUST HAD to PAY FOR SONAR ONCE... NO MATTER THE SYSTEM YOU HAD, as you may change systems at your will... that's FAIR...!!!! Hope this helps...

Well that explains it! Interesting to know. Hopefully, I'll be seeing that screen soon cause I plan ongetting Win 7 64bit :)
