Although I notice Mooch nearly let one out...

I never nearly do anything -- I go all out..... let it rip loud and proud and take all credit for my deeds - good or bad  2nd, 3rd, or even 4th harmonics - - I hit them all......

I wonder .....

is this why after  first dates I never see......

never mind -

Epiphany moment here

Geez, I always thought there was only one "worlds greatest authority".  I guess I have to get out more.  Oh and by the way, I tried some of that hash in beagle's picture one time. It tasted great but I just couldn't keep it lit......................

Sonar Artist, HP Laptop, AMD A8700 , 1T+250g, M-Audio Fast Track Ultra ,Roland 88 Hammer action, Roland AX-1, M-audio 88es, Arturia minilabII......When I was young I wanted to become a mad scientist. I achieved everything except the "scientist" part....http://www.soundclick.com/savageopera

OK Jonboy, i apologize.  At no point was i trying to be condescending, i was imparting a little knowledge.  It  may come across in my tone, i have mentioned audio schools and how odious these places are.  I am setting up a website and i want to do some tutorials for free that hopefully helps those that are a bit dubious about these places decide not to go to these places.  That is unless you want to have academic qualifications, which i do.  These things academic qualifications are great when you go to court for minor crap.  the judge always looks upon you favorably.  "Your a highly educated man"
So i apologize once more.  I'm sorry if my tone is condescending but not everyone who comes on this forum knows about 2nd harmonics.  Did the guy with 20$ mastering video know anything about it, i don't know my download limit is gone i will have a look at the end of the month.

No worries Hash.  No need to apologize either, for me I'd rather see you join the party here than be given the cold shoulder that's all.  I respect peoples education it shows commitment, and I'm sure you have plenty of good stuff to offer the fertile pool of information that this place is.

So how do you like your coffee?  A bacon sandwich perhaps?...

Dr. Hash, since you didn't see the video here's the joke: the fellow is advertising mastering services by demonstrating that you can tell if a song is well-mastered because its waveform looks like a solid brick. Furthermore, the sample song sounds considerably worse after his "mastering".

He doesn't specifically mention second harmonics, but I think it's a reasonable assumption that they are not included in the twenty-dollar special.

Ok thanks guys, yea i get why you are laughing at the video.  We as an industry are never going to learn that louder does not equal better.  A bit of dynamics in the final master is good.  Sombody should tell the guy offering these services that.  But then again you get what you pay for don't you.

Awhile back I was trying to convince a friend of mine to get Music Creator and record his music on the computer.
He's always been a hardware guy, and decided to get a BOSS digital recorder, because it has a mastering button.

Greg
I am selling my MIM Fender Stratocaster HSS, red and black. PM for more details.

Music Creator 2003, MC Pro 24, SONAR Home Studio 6 XL, SONAR  X3e, CbB, Focusrite Saffire, not enough space.
Everything is better with pie.

Let's loudly demand that SONAR 9 have a mastering button, too.

I AM JUST FED UP WITH SONAR AND I AM SWITCHING TO PROREAPLOGIC IF I DON'T GET A MASTERING BUTTON! AS YOU CAN SEE, I AM SERIOUS BECAUSE I AM USING ALL CAPS AND A LARGE COLORED FONT.

There's always the Greyhound bus depot for that, or the Gaviota Rest Stop!
