drop out issue...need help

Im using Sonar 7 producer edition e machine laptop with windows xp and a tascam 122 interface.  in the middle of a project if i start using effects i get dropouts constantly...can someone please help me!!!

    What are the specs of the e machine?

    What effects are you using and how are you using them?

    Is this a recent development or have you always had this issue?

    You most likely need to raise your ASIO buffers or raise the slider latency in WDM driver mode.

    What effects are they, just out of curiosity
