I watched 8-1/2 many times... Nine seems like a visual Big Mac.

The edits are really nice... and the lighting is like a character in and of it self.

The music made my toes tap.

    :-)

The edits are nice?  The EDITS are nice?  Do they give Oscars for edits?  Well, I imagine they do.  Just never heard a movie recommended because of them.  I may have to watch this is a different way than normal.  :-) Of course, if the music's that good I might not notice other things.  :-)

:-) I don't know if I think it's a great movie. It is a visual feast and it offers up a list of beautiful movie stars performing cameo appearances in dance numbers that have large production budgets and beautiful production value.

It's ironic that it is a take off of Fellini's 8-1/2 which is a farce about the end of a chraismatic Italian film makers creative career. 8-1/2 is often times presented in film history classes as a serious film... but after you have enjoyed watching it several times you will realize that it was made to be watched at face value.   It is difficult to consider a take off of a farce as a serious film. It is a visual feast for man children.

    best regards,
    mike

Anyway, this made me think....I've always wished I could watch Man From Snowy River on a big screen.  Of course, it's WAY too late to ever see it in a theater.  But now I know a few people that have theaters in their homes.  I might just have to invite myself over! :-)
