Audiophile 2496 PCI Sound Card advice needed.

I was wondering how much latency there is with this card. I am considering buying it, but I would like to have zero latency.

or would you recomend a different pci card in the $150 range?

you'll not get zero latency with anything except external hardware monitoring.

the 2496 is a good soundcard for the money and you'll get low latency with it depending on your computer specs.  the faster your computer the better your latency can be without glitches and stuttering.

I've got a 2496 and it works perfectly.  Like Beagle said, nothing will get you ZERO latency, but with a decent PC you can get it down to unnoticeable levels.

My setup actually goes from the instrument (or microphone) to a mixer, to the soundcard, through Sonar, back out through the soundcard to the mixer, and THEN to the monitors.  And it still sounds synched to what i'm playing.
