PSP VintageWarmer Nasty Distortion Problem
I have Sonar 8.5 PRODUCER and I have this problem where the PSP VintageWarmer2 has a nasty distortion at practically every setting when the 64-bit double-precision engine option is checked so I am forced to turn it off. Does anybody know why? I am running XP 32-bit. Is the 64-bit engine important?

What I've noticed is that for those that have issues with the 64-bit engine, they leave it off for the most part and only turn it on during the bounce-down. Mike

Some other plugins aren't as well. So I just turn it on for mixdowns (it's an option in the bounce dialogue) or just leave it off. 32bit internal processing is still plenty enough really.

Since I use PSP VW2 a lot, I just checked my setup and I'm using the 64-bit audio engine and rendering files in 64bit. So, there is some other cause for your issue. Can you let us know more details about your setup? BTW - I use the WDM drivers of my Ultra to get great low-latency. I find I need to Wave Profile it from time to time as I Include/Exclude VSTs from the VST scans. You may want to try re-profiling your card.

Sijel, You just reminded me -- it's the DX version (NOT the VST version) that has trouble for me with the 64bit DPE on.

jtnavia Really? I only installed the VST version and I'm having problems with it. Maybe the real culprit is some other plugin; or maybe the latency and/or I/O buffers in Sonar need adjusting. I'm not on Win7 on my DAW yet, but I also can use PSP VW2 with the 64DPE on.
