Dimension Pro Bank Browser issues

Hi

I have half solved a problem I have had since upgrading from LE to Pro 64bit. I bought the DSF Instrument Mega Pack for LE then I upgrded to Sonar Producer and went throught the upgrade to Pro. I have also done the 1.5 upgrade as well.

The Megs Pack was not appearing in my browser but OK in the loading the Multisamples. I just read the thread to press F5 (which I hadn't realised!) and hey presto the Mega Packs appeared. However, I now get error messages: "Error uncommpressing program data- program load failed".

I have also other folders with problems. Take 'Expansion Pack 1' folder. If I try to load 'RGC Air' the following error appears: Air.Wav - Multisample Not Found

Any help resolving this issue would be appriciated.
Thanks

This error message appears when attempting to open a Program that was created with later version of Dimension Pro.  So you have an old Dimension Pro.dll lingering somewhere on your system if you've upgraded to 1.2 and 1.5.  (it's easy to create this situation, if you've pointed the 1.2 or 1.5 installer/updater to the wrong VST folder it won't get overwritten) so the original Dimension Pro dll remains.

Perform a file search for Dimension Pro.dll.  View the properties of all of the Dimension Pro.dll files.  Remove any Dimension Pro.dll that reads to be version 1.1.0.79.  Make sure that all of your Dimension Pro version numbers read 1.5 (or at least 1.2 for the DXi).

    Hi Chad

Are you the chap I am in contact with through support?

my dimension pro dll  (in my vstplugin folder) is the 64bit version and called dimension pro x64.dll and is version 1.5.0.5 last updated 27/04/2010 (obviously UK date format).

    So all looks OK there.

    Did this ever get resolved?

I've run into exactly the same thing when I upgraded Dim Pro 1.2 to Dim Pro 1.5

Here's the support message from Chad..  he helped me out no end... it's quite long..... hope it helps...

    Hello Martin,

Thank you for contacting Cakewalk Technical Support.

    >I seem to be going back rather than forwards on this. I cannot un-install Dimension Pro. If I go to Start | Programs | Cakewalk | Dimensio Pro there are no un-install options. If I go to Control Panel | Unistall A Program the only Dimension Pro listed is for 1.2 but this came up with an error message so I have removed this from my programs list.
    >Is there a manual way to get to the un-install for Dimension Pro? I have looked through the directories and cannot find it.

Yes perform a manual un-install via the following steps:

    - First attempt to run the 1.2 uninstaller from your remove programs
list after you have press F5 on Dimension Pro's program browser. (the
first time you tried the programs.lst file may not have been built if
you hadn't opened Dimension Pro's program browser)

    - Click the Windows Start button and select Run. At the prompt type
    REGEDIT and click OK.

Backup your Registry before making edits - you do this by clicking the
    Registry menu, Export Registry File.

Now delete the following Registry keys

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Dimension Pro

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Dimension Pro

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{61E5A01F-A3AD-4a64-BD41-4123B58CD27B}\InprocServer32\18

    - Close Regedit

    - Now delete your Dimension Pro folders and dll files:

    C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro
    C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro
    C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Dimension Pro

For the dll files perform a file search on your hard drive for
    Dimension Pro.dll. Remove all copies.

You can also perform a search for any remaining Dimension Pro folders
you have. Remove those as well.

    >You say Dimension LE can be un-installed. I don't see a un-insall option or is this just a case of deleting certian directories? If so can you advice?

This depends on which version of Dimension LE you have. If your copy
of Dimension LE came with SONAR or SONAR Home Studio then it will only
be uninstalled when you remove the application it came with. There is
a standalone version of Dimension LE as well, in this case the
    standalone has it's own uninstaller.

You can also perform a manual un-install of Dimension LE if you'd like
    via the follow steps:

(its also important to note that you can have both Dimension LE and
Dimension Pro installed on the same system, so feel free to leave it
    installed if you'd like)

    - Click the Windows Start button and select Run. At the prompt type
    REGEDIT and click OK.

Backup your Registry before making edits - you do this by clicking the
    Registry menu, Export Registry File.

Now delete the following Registry keys

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Dimension LE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Dimension LE

    - Close Regedit

    - Now delete your Dimension LE folders and dll files:

    C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension LE
    C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Dimension LE

For the dll files perform a file search on your hard drive for
Dimension LE.dll. Remove all copies (if any are left).

You can also perform a search for any remaining Dimension LE folders
you have. Remove those as well.

    >I was thinking of buying the e-mu packs on offer this month but don't want to proced until we can get this sorted.

After performing a clean installation you should be all set. Just
remember that if you are using Dimension Pro 1.5 and install any
expansion packs you'll need to move the program files via the steps
outlined in this knowledge base article:

    [link=http://www.cakewalk.com/support/kb/reader.aspx?ID=2007013168]http://www.cakewalk.com/s...der.aspx?ID=2007013168[/link]

It's a very simple step of re-running the 1.5 updater. Or manually
copying the Programs to the new ProgramData folder location.

In the future these expansion pack installers will be updated so that
they install to the new location if someone has Dimension Pro 1.5
    installed.

    >. I bought the DSF Instrument Mega Pack for LE then I upgrded to Sonar Producer and went throught the upgrade to Pro. I have also done the 1.5 upgrade as well.

It sounds like you installed these packs for Dimension LE. After
doing a clean install make sure to choose the Dimension Pro
    installation type.

    >However, I now get error messages: "Error uncommpressing program data- program load failed".

As mentioned on the forums this error message happens when a copy of
Dimension Pro 1.0 attempts to load programs created with features from
Dimension Pro 1.2. (the 1.2 update brought in new FX and other
features). Even if you had updated to 1.5 there is a chance that a
stray copy of Dimension Pro 1.0 was still being scanned and opened by
SONAR. That would cause this error message. A clean install from the
steps outlined above should resolve this issue.

If you run into this issue again there are two steps you should take:

Perform a file search for Dimension Pro.dll. View the properties of
all of the Dimension Pro.dll files. Remove any Dimension Pro.dll that
reads to be version 1.1.0.79. Make sure that all of your Dimension
Pro version numbers read 1.2.0.214 or later.

Then you can also go in to SONAR and go to Tools | Cakewalk Plug-in
Manager. Here you can disable your Dimension Pro DXi. You can also
see which VSTi for Dimension Pro is being used and it's scan location.

    >I have also other folders with problems. Take 'Expansion Pack 1' folder. If I try to load 'RGC Air' the following error appears: Air.Wav - Multisample Not Found

A clean installation should also solve this issue. I would recommend
re-downloading both Expansion Pack installers and running from the
    newly downloaded installers:
