saving 1 of 16 tracks of sonar project to a single MIDI file with the 1 track.

using Sonar studio 8.3.  i have 16 sonar tracks.  i want to save each track separately into individual MIDI type1 file.  isn't there a capability to select a single track amongst all tracks and just save that single track to a single MIDI file, ignoring the remaining 15 tracks?  please help.

thanks,
Too Hip

Mute the ones you don't want saved.

    Welcome to the forums, Toohip.

If  you highlight the track and then drag it out of SONAR and into a folder on your PC, it will save the track as a .mid file. Don't know if this is what you are looking for, but it is the only thing I can figure out. Try it out and see what happens!

I also see an 'Export MIDI groove-clip' option in the 'File' menu. I guess that you could make the whole track a single big groove clip with no repeats and then export it that way.

I wonder why they have the groove clip export, but not a simple MIDI export, unless the answer is as simple as dragging the track into Windows as per above.

    Hi Beagle,
yes, i used to do this with previous versions.  i spent a least an hour trying the MUTE track and every track was written to my MIDI file.  I know I've used mute track for audio tracks, and i know it works.  is this a bug for MIDI tracks?
