Sonar/Sibelius conflict

Does anyone else work with both Sonar and Sibelius (6.2.3)? I know you can't have them both running at the same time, but in the past, as long as I was sure not to have both active, I was alright. Lately, even if I close Sonar and try to export audio from Sib., for example, I get a lot of static (unusable) in the export trac. I also get loud pops with some commands in Sib. I can play my score in Sib., but not export it.

Hey David I work with Sibelius and Sonar often.  I have never had any issues with exporting my midi file from Sibelius and then importing that file into Sonar, works fine for me.  I know I cannot have both Sonar and Sibelius open at the same time as they fight over my sound card.

Therein may lie the key to the problem posed by the OP. Are you sure Sonar has fully released the hardware when you have closed it?

Sibelius 6 has ReWire support...running as a client along another ReWire host such as SONAR. They should be able to co-exist peacefully. Of course, with previous versions of Sibelius, you can't run the two at once unless you set them to use 2 different HW interfaces so they don't fight over it.
I'll be getting my copy of Sibelius 6 this week so I can confirm 1st hand then.
But meanwhile, there's got to be plenty of Sibelius users on this forum who can address the issue. After all, we all complain about the lackluster score feature of SONAR here in this forum.

    Good luck!

Hi, Mike.  This post got lost, and I just saw it after several months!.  The problem you mention - open at the same time - is the one I was referring to.  Sometimes it's handy to be able to work back and forth, and you get the basic distortion with both open.  I wonder if there's a way around that?  Also, have you ever loaded GPO4 into your Sib. midi tracks in Sonar?  Seems like a very convoluted process...haven't figured it out yet.

    MaestroGeek,

Did you ever get your Sib. 6 and find out about the sound compatibility with Sonar and Sib both open?
