So, I went ahead and purchased the AC-7 for my iPad. This is what I have found so far.
I am running a machine with win7 32 and another running win7 64.
I could not get LoopBE1 to work on either machine.
I have gotten Midi Yoke to work on both machines.
I have gotten DSmidiwifi to work on both machines.
All these pieces worked out of the box, per the standard instructions. HOWEVER you cannot tell if they are working until you get a client running (such as Live or SONAR or possibly something else)
I installed a Live 8.5 LE copy I had laying around and was able to get the AC-7 to control Live on the win7 64 box with the above software.
Now, here comes the bad news.
I tried to use SONAR with the same configuration, and could not get any of the preconfigured mackie control surfaces to respond.
I recorded a midi channel and played with the virtual sliders and knobs on the ac-7... Voila events were recorded... sliders were wheel events associated with specific channels. button presses on the ac-7 sent note on and note off with velocity to the recorded channel...
I fired up the act midi controller surface and tinkered with some midi learn functions and was able to get some things working on the controller.
I sent an email off the the maintainer of the control surface, and am waiting for a response.
So for the time being AC-7 doesn't appear to work out of the box in sonar 8.5. I looks like it would be possible to get it to work with more tinkering on a control panel or a dedicated panel...
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. If you do any tinkering please update this thread, and I will let you know what I find out.
