Sonar 8 Help

Hello,
 
Just need a bit of help here.  I have installed vst virtual Bassist.  So I can load the preloaded tunes and it plays, however, when I go to the virutal keyboards where you write the notes etc.  I put a bunch of notes in, but no sounds comes out. 
 
any ideas?

    When you insert the softsynth make sure that the options are ticked properly for MIDI track, instrument track, outputs, etc.  Make sure the track/bus routing to sound card is correct.
