Computer Desk/Workstation

Anyone have any suggestions for a computer desk/workstation that would work well with Sonar, a Roland VS-880EX, a Midi Keyboard Controller, and a myriad of desktop synths?  I'm hoping to figure out a way to organize all of my equipment into a working studio environment.  I've had to store a lot of equipment away since the SMALL dresser I have everything set up on doesn't accomodate a quarter of the equipment that I have.  Thanks for any suggestions!

without spending $1000's on purpose built studio furniture - Ikea's Galant is a cheap, customizable solution.

I added a monitor shelf, which would hold 3, and allows room for 6 rackmounts below. There is plenty of desk space (63" x 32") and is expandable to allow for an L shape addition, or straight extension which might provide for desktop synths.
Add a keyboard tray, or midi keyboard pullout and your looking at ~$300 (78" length).

Heres a quick snap of mine

    I use this desk:
    http://www.guitarcenter.com/Studio-RTA-Producer-Station-102807807-i1152467.gc

Pretty decent size... and cost isn't bad.
You can fit a 28" monitor and your near fields on the top shelf.

Excellent suggestion, thanks!  Would I be able to find the accessories (monitor shelf and keyboard tray) at Ikea as well?

You could always try building one from scratch - to your very own design.

It's probably not as difficult as you might think.

I built mine using one of the plans from this DIY site. I highly rec. it! You can get them as downloads (PDF) I am no wood worker but it was very easy to follow and a lot cheaper than buying one (that size) already made.

    The plans: http://plans.thefrankes.com/Racks/
    The forums: http://www.rackcreations....rum/viewforum.php?f=11

My thread to the one I built: http://www.rackcreations....opic.php?f=3&t=412

It's not what we're doing, it's how you do it :)
