Mirror Without RAID?

Hi Gang

In line with my other (earlier posting) message in this forum...

Does anyone know of any software that will allow you to setup two drives to mirror? I can't afford all the hardware of a RAID system...

Thanks
Keni

    Thanks Slart...

I was hoping for something such as this. It just seems that it 'should' be built into the OS and costless to system resources other than the power to run the number of drives required.

So now I've gotta start thinking seriously about upgrading from Vista to win7? <sigh>... I was hoping to leave this system as is and get win7 on my next machine (whenever that takes place), but now I'm thinkin'.....

The same software raid function has been available in Windows NTFS dynamic volumes since Windows 2000, but I do not know if it is accessible in all versions (home , pro etc).

Wow! How did I miss that one? I'm still running win2k on this machine and in many respects, it's still my favorite OS of the bunch... This machine probably isn't as important, but I'm gonna look into it here too... My DAW is running on Vista SP2. As soon as I rebuild this drive and can look around I'm gonna see what I can turn up there. A friend just offerred to buy me a drive for such a purpose!

    Thanks Slart...
