behringer v-amp pro set up question and help please for a noob

decided to treat my self to a new bit of gear.....

So tomorow I am going to order one of theys http://www.behringer.co.u.EN/Products/LX1-PRO.aspx

I am hopeing to be able to use it like I would a guitar amp plug in so basicaly I can record  it in sonar as say a dry signal then audition sounds from the V amp pro to use and edit ?( basicaly like what would be done with pod farm or guitar rig etc but mine would be a bit of out board instead of a plug in) If I am makeing sence here I really hope I am

This is a pic of the back of the unit http://www.guitareffectss...BHR-V-AMP-PRO_back.jpg

So if any one could tell me what cables to buy to set it up as a send and return and how to do that with the vs 700 I would be so greatfull I am not use to iseing rack gear at all

Would this be easy to do aswell ? or very tricky ?

I like learning new things so I have to learn some time :)

Thanks for all the help guys :)

Will you be using real time monitoring via the VS700 or input monitoring via Sonar.............

I do not have a VS700 ...........But I am well versed with the V-Amp products and may be able to get you going.

    Tracking...........

    1. V-Amp Pre DSP Insert/Send Line Out......to........V700 Analog In
This will send dry/unprocessed guitar signal to V700...........

    2. V-Amp Analog Out......to.............V700 input............

This is to monitor guitar with simulation.............but you won't actually track/record  it.

Now Set up Sonar Drivers to record the V-Amp Pre DSP Insert Line out..........via V700.

Then Set up V700 to monitor V-Amp analog out.....................monitor this only don't record.

Post a reply when you get this far and it is working.

One thing worth mentioning about the V-Amp, I had a load of problems from day 1 with mine, where it wouldn't retain the programs I'd set up.

It turned out that the onboard lithium battery was dead (this was a brand new unit) so be prepared to swap yours out if you ever get problems like this.

Will it just be a bunch of 1/4inch jacks like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6x-...mp;hash=item1c1395dd6a

Or do they need to be stereo ?

Or will I need xlr cables or a mix of both ?

Could some one link me to what I need to buy so I dont get it wrong please ?

Thanks for any help as I dont have a clue right now

    You'll need........

    Just to get going...............

    4-1/4" Balanced  cables.............

    And............

1-XLR Balanced cable........If you wish to use Behringers Ultra-G analog cab sim.......Its worth the extra cable trust me

Once your up and running you may add or subtract cables to suite your needs..........

You'll need to determine the length you need.
