Need new monitor: Which JBL LSR 2328p or KRK Rokit 8G2?

Hi:  I need your experience and advice.  I have been using Event 20/20 (8 inch) monitors for many years with a 75w/75w stereo Power Amp.  I need to replace these now.  I am considering KRKs Rokits 8G2s and JBLs LSR 2828ps.  My price range is 450-600.

My home hobby studio is small  (12x12) , but I really like the fullness of 8 inch monitors and need the headroom.  The JBL LSR2328ps have plenty of power--way more but that will give the headroom and keep it clean.  The KRK Rokit 8G2s are lower wattage, but still more than adequate, and of course cheaper than the JBLs.  With either of these, I know there will be a period needed to retrain my ears.

1) Which of these pairs would you guys recommend for a serious Hobby environment and WHY?

2) Which would be more comparable sound-wise to the Event 20/20s?

Thanks for your help.

Personally, I would keep the Event 20/20s ;-}  Those are good monitors, for sure - I still use them in my studio.

However, if I were to choose between the JBLs and the KRKs, I would pick the JBLs.  I don't have personal experience with either one, but I have heard and read many good things about the JBLs, and I have heard a few complaints about the KRK stuff.  I don't know if the JBLs you are looking at have the room correction feature or not, but that would be worth the difference in price to me.  Hard to say which ones would sound most like the Event 20/20s, but there will likely be some 'ear adjustment' whichever way you go.
