Session Drummer 2

I just noticed that Cakewalk now has SD2 available as a download for $9.99 (previously $79.99).
It supports multiple outputs for individual drums, and sounds better than the Studio Instruments drums.
If you are looking for something better than SI, but can't  quite afford the more expensive programs, this is a really good deal.

Yeah I was interested in that, just because it appeared to have more variety, does it work with MC5.vista well or is it more designed for Sonar (which it seems to be bundled).  Does it cover more of the GM Standard and Additional Kits, in other words will I find a Cowbell etc somewhere on it LOL?

THis is one heck of a deal... if I didn't already have several drummers I'd buy it....

KICK... it will work with all the Cakewalk DAW's...it's a plug in VST    A cow bell... probably has one in there.... but if I understand correctly... just glanced at the specs.... the sounds are samples not synth generated. So that means they will sound better than a synth drum.

they also sell additional samples for more kits.... hey for $10... if you don't have a drummer now.... get this because I guarantee the price will not stay at this low price for long....  a few months back they ran DimLE/GPO for $20... which I did buy, and it's back to it's normal price now.... they pop these price drops in from time to time for their customers who are looking at the site on a regular basis.... I never see them announce it... it shows up for a few days and disappears.

Get it while you can at that price.

and Guitar Center has in store only sale on EZ Drummer for only $30!  but only until sept 27.

the deal on Session Drummer 2 above is excellent for those who dont have it,but EZD is leaps and bounds better than Session Drummer and is a steal for $30!

    Yes, it has a cowbell.
The samples are velocity layered, so the timbre changes as you hit it harder, and it's tunable.

    Moo.
Tuned down two  octaves, it sounds remarkably like a 22 oz ball peen on 1/4" deck plate!!

LOL, you'd be surprised when you have all these imperfect samples gathered together (mostly free or forgotten sf2,vsti), when you need a cowbell in a certain part of the song (if you can call it that) it's just better if it comes from the same soundset, rather than having to borrow it from elsewhere as you can do with Cakewalk if you haven't already separated the drum samples, which do at times sound rather synthetic.  No, my main point is that the Studio Drums are limited in the styles they address although Cakewalk has organized many presets they do seem sort of genre bound, atleast to me.  NSKitfreelite almost seems as good in some ways, although no longer distributed as technically someone owns the rights to that one now (it was that good).

hey....another option is to buy a cowbell from the store..and a pair of sticks....  then, you can set on your back or front porch and play the cowbell for your neighbors.

This also gives you the option to record a real cowbell..... no more silly samples....
