Unwanted Audio Track Bounce When Recording Additional Audio Tracks

Unwanted audio track bouncing during audio record.  Running a Delta 66 with Sonar 8.5, Vista (for now).  When recording second audio track, first one bounces to it.  I feel that it's because of the sound card config, not sure and don't know how to fix it.  I'm running "Delta 66 1/2" for input and output.  Had the same problem with midi files but was able to route them off to a separate output (alt 3/4) instead of "Main" on the mixer.  Hoping that someone can explain in layman's terms how to best handle the problem.  If so, will the solution change when I install new system with Windows 7?  Thanks very much.

Usually this is caused by a "what u hear" or "stereo mix" setting in the soundcards software.

When operating with MIDI you must remember to assign every instrument to a MIDI channel of it's own.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

Thanks for your quick reply, Kalle, but I do not see  "what you hear" or "stereo mix" options on the Delta 66 control panel.  And yes, each midi track is assigned to its own midi channel.  Not having midi issues, just audio bouncing.  Thanks again for your rapid response.

I'm having the same problem as colonelron, ever since I just got my new Windows7 computer. Before, when I recorded, for instance,  a hardware synth, the only sound recorded was that synth. Now, when I record, i also get the mix I am listening to recorded into that new track. The only thought I have is that my ouputs are now being sent to an "sw" output. However, when I try to change the output to Delta 1 and 2, I can record the synth, but I get no sound coming from Sonar. Thus, I don't know where to record my new music, since I have nothing to play it along with. Even my metronone doesn't play with this setting. I have asked this question at the M-Audio forum, but that forum is not as responsive as this one.
    Thanks.

I have resolved this issue. A new driver for my M-audio Delta 66 seemed to work. In addition, I was doing something wrong with my Mackie mixer.
