Tiny Text? Windows 7 Strange Happening

I'm referring specifically to the text in the bottom fields in the boxes.  What would cause them to be so small?  Also, when I type in certain fields (username, password fields) the text is really small too.

Anybody know how to make this text "default" or bigger?

What is your screen resolution? Text is x number of pixels (different sizes means different number of pixels per character), so in a screen of many pixels it occupies a smaller area of the same screen than in one of fewer pixels per screen.

In general, the best resolution to use is the native resolution of your monitor. But if that causes the text to be unreadable to you, you can use the "personalize" options to increase the text size.

Right-click to the Desktop, select Personalize. Another option is to decrease your resolution. That will make everything larger, but not as clear.

Hello, the resolution I'm using is 1280x1024, the recommended resolution.

I must specify here, that the TINY text is only in CERTAIN fields!

For instance, if I go to the JUMP TO menu on the bottom right here, the text looks like it's 3 point or smaller.  All the rest of the text in these forums is totally legible.  Again, It's mostly text in FIELDS or pulldown menus.

    Does this make sense?

The entire screen resolution would not affect only certain areas, but my entire picture, which is NOT the problem.

    Thanks

Hmmm. That sounds strange. So can you read the <message edited by spindlebox on 16 mins. ago> in your last post? That text is smaller than the "Jump to". I can understand if there was some sort of browser issue with certain text attributes, but I don't know why a Windows program like Sonar or password prompts would be inconsistent.

RogerS.  Yes actually I can read the "edited" message, but the "Jump to:" text is even SMALLER than that!!!

I must point out that this does not only happen with Internet Explorer.  Remember that this happens in the fields on the DAW.

    Yes, this IS strange!

Some of the text size in programs is a function of that program and not the Video resolution or Windows resolution.

Does this happen in ALL programs or just certain ones or certain locations on the screen?   If it's certain locations on the screen it can be a problem in the video display or the video card.

(BTW, I'm an ex KC Northlander).

    Fireberd!
I live on North Brighton and 35 area.
So it's all programs that have fields/pull-down menus.
The video card is brand new, and it's not certain locations on the screen.  Just those darn, pesky fields!!

Just a thought but thought i'd offer...   I'm not up to speed on windows seven, but have you tried Right click on dektop, properties, settings tab,Click on advanced button, under the general tab change DPI setting to default?

It may be located elswhere in seven, but I am sure that there has to be a windows DPI setting in there somewhere.

    Hope you figure it out.

Try the font settings.  It may be the screen resolution, too.  What you are using usually results in relatviely big font.  I have a 22" LCD monitor and the "native" resolution is 1680X1050  (and many LCD's have a higher resolution) but that is too small for me so I've lowered it to 1440X900 (and even that is relatively small).

(I lived about a block west of Antioch Shopping Center).
