What was the power one you were talkng about ? Ive done that much over the last 2 days my mind has gone blank

Actually, just dug up this thread. It may help you.

How I did it:

500 gig disk:
  C:\  win 7 32      (100gb)   all audio programs, VSTs, sonar picture cache
  J:\  (C when booted)  win 7 64      (100gb)   all audio programs, VSTs, sonar picture cache
  O:\  stuff            (280gb)   CD projects, and storage

200 gig disk:
D:\   samples, misc

500 gig disk:
E:\  audio projects\
          sonar projects
          cal
          presets
          templates
          and most of the other sonar folders

I install Sonar to  C:\Sonar7, Sonar8.5,...

I attempt to install all plugs in c:\AudioCommon: shared plugins, shared vst, shared surfaces,..

And audio programs in c:\AudioPrograms.

w7 uses the task scheduler to start programs that do not appear in msconfig.
And: No wireless, disable the service. And a bunch of other stuff can be disabled without affecting general use. And of course, regularly check msconfig to disable qtask, realaudio, adobe, toolbars, java,...

An easy 'set and forget' backup option is to use two identical drives with raid mirroring for you project and backup HDDs.
