Hi Norrie,
I have the Bass V-Amp Pro. It is a great unit with fabulous presets. One of the coolest features is its reamping capabilities. You can use the Send from the Pre-DSP insert to send a dry signal to your VS-700. At the same time you can monitor a fully effected signal through your headphones as a you play. Then you can take an output from the VS-700 and use it as a return for the Pre-DSP insert. Now you can play back the recorded bass track, monitor through the headphones and apply whatever amp/cab sim/effect combination you like. See Fig. 2.6 in the manual for instructions on how to set this up. To get that effected signal back into the VS-700 just run an XLR cable from the Ultra-G XLR output. See Fig. 2.3, but in the upper right corner replace Tape with VS-700.
If you are using stereo effects you'll want to use balanced cables (1/4" TRS). For mono, standard 1/4" cables will do the trick. For the Ultra-G output use XLR cables.
I had totally forgotten about this application of the Bass V-Amp Pro. It's been sitting in my rack and I haven't used it for a long time, but I've kept it because it is incredibly versatile and sounds really good. It even sounds good on guitars, especially if you want a really saturated tone. Usually Behringer stuff doesn't sound professional, but this particular box is a great value.
Hope that helps,
Paul
