Rapture EXP pack Arp patches with no Step Sequences

I have installed Rapture 1.2 + Expansion Pack 1 + 2. They appear to have installed OK but I'm puzzeled by all the patches in the Expansions packs that have "Arp" in them. They do not have any pitch step sequenced patterns in them as one would expect, neither do they sound like arpeggiated patches.

I tried to do my homwork on this by searching the forum but there is a lot of forum posts about problems with Rapture installation on Vista and sifting through these for the answer looks like a lot of work when you have to feed the family.

My PC is W7 x64 but rapture is installed as x86 - 32bit. Does someone have the quick answer to my problem. I have familiarized myself with the file structure and unhidden the Programdata/rapture folders. Thanks in advance

Hmmm I might have an install problem as well.  I have the expansions installed but I don't see any Arps.............

Can you post a screenshot of your preset folder tree please?

It's possible the Arp patches are meant to be played using Sonar's built in Arp but I can't be sure............

It's been my opinion that those presets were intended to be used with an external step sequencer or arpeggiator.  As I recall, they have very short envelopes (see your screenshot), and remain as distinct notes within a rapid sequence.

At the time of those Expansion Pack releases, Rapture had more limited methods for entering in your own sequences.  In current versions, you can easily copy / paste from one program to another.  You might want to try that with these programs.

Thanks for your thoughts. I have been using Alchemy lately so my approach to arp'd sounds comes from using that plugin where an arpeggiated pattern comes with the patch rather than having to use one externally or internally if possible. A lot of plugs do this as most of us are aware. Can't see why Cake wouldn't just allow for this for these patches that don't do the whole composition. If mine is the same as everyone else's then we should consider this question answered.

Ahhh Ok I found the preset you're talking about (in the Keys folder who'd have thought).

Yes I'm pretty sure it's just a case of BT choosing a misleading name for the patch.  Given the name one would think that the patch has the arp built in but it's more of a suggestion as said before to use an external Arp.

EDIT: I'm giving Rapture another go after leaving it for awhile and just realized it doesn't have a conventional Arp......doesn't seem like the Step Generators can function like a traditional Arp but like I said it's been awhile...............I could be wrong................
