i doubt there is a keyboard hack. I have a physical keyboard, but that doesn't mean I can write anything anywhere.

Twigman I can't even post using IE8 and XP32 Pro on my laptop half the time. The software on this forum is total crap and I often have to load the page 5 or 6 times before it'll let me reply!! daveny5 Duojet Using which browser?
The stock android 2.2 browser. How did you get a keyboard to type on? Which smartphone do you have? Motorola Droid. It has a slide out physical keyboard. That must be it. It does not work without it. Usually for other web forms, text boxes etc, even if I dont have the keyboard out I'll get the virtual one. Doesnt happen with these forums. Something is wrong where it doesn't trigger the virtual keyboard, but the physical one works.

mike_mccue Duojet just posted this from my moto droid I was wondering if this was because you have a true keyboard? The problem for many of us is that the virual keyboard will launch for the subject heading but it will not launch for the primary text entry. What do you think? best regards, mike I think the physical keyboard makes the difference.

I think the physical keyboard makes the difference. Those of us with the G1 have reported being unable to post. Maybe its a combination of 2.2 and a physical keyboard, but as posted multiple times, just having a physical keyboard doesnt make posting possible. I just one click rooted mine, probably get around to finally installing the Cyanogen mod later this week.

some providers apply a modified version of the os to get their own flare on the phones....rogers does this, and consequently, the popup keyboard becomes disabled. the os is hacked to begin with...so maybe i shouln't have said keyboard hack...and maybe should have said keyboard unlock. no guarantee it will work, it just sounds familiar to what my brother had problems with....and it helped him

mike_mccue dmmi again....there is a keyboard popup hack that should enable you to post Yes, I saw your first post and hoped you might elaborate. I am hoping not to hack my phone... can you tell us more? best regards, mike I'd be careful about that if you have the Motorola Droid X. I've read if you hack it, it will brick and you'll have to get it reloaded. If should work if you have a phone with the hard keyboard, but not the soft... at least not yet.

No keyboard shows up in Reply or Quick Reply when trying to reply. Seems crazy, likely something simple. But can't post, from Motorola Atrix MB860, Android 2.3.4. I can "press", long or short, in the Subject, then the virtual keyboard shows up, but no combination of screen presses brings keyboard up in Body field. Used: stock browser, Dolphin, Boat, Xscope. To no avail. Tried Swype. Didn't work. Made sure "multi-touch" keyboard chosen for default, to go back to default. Can't respond from phone. BTW, have been using X1 for about 3 months. It works well for me; getting used to things being in different places and drop downs hasn't been an issue. To me at least it's no different than many other software packages that came out with very significant GUI changes in the last couple yrs. Like new Autocad Map 3D interface changes (read that intro of "ribbons"), or even Microsoft "ribbons (again)" ....different GUI in Office products. Things change in the "name of improvement" although that's in the eye of the beholder to be sure - to avoid any opinions on the matter. If I could reply and such to the forum from my "smart phone", that's another matter. Regards,

I'm surprised no one's mentioned tapatalk. I must be one of the few people on Earth that doesn't have a smart phone let alone a cell phone but I see in a whole bunch of forums where people are able to post using this program. And it's available for iPhones and Android based phones (and some other stuff). Tapatalk About the only downside is the forum owners have to activate Tapatalk on their forums and considering how we've seen Cake's sterling response to forum software problems (please note sarcasm) and those noting them I wouldn't hold out hope that it's either activated here or will be.
