Finaly, a "complete" song :)

And here it is: http://www.reverbnation.com/fjellmann last song; "The Scientist - Cover"

yeah...it's a cover. with my tiny little twist on it.

Anyways... I did think or maybee feel "this sounds OK" a couple of days ago, but today it's just "crap". The only thing I like is the guitarsolo at 03:49....might be because I'm not comfy with the guitar :D

Please dissect it and advice...  I know you can :)

Aaah, nice, warm and friendly vocal tone. Listening on the speakers (JBL 4326). Mix is well balanced. Surprisingly so.  Although I can hear the bass clearly, I can't say the same for the kick. You have a very nice and smooth overall vibe going on. I'm not familiar with the original, but don't feel the need to go for a listen. I'm enjoying your interpretation/version quite a bit. This is a very very good production Mr. Man. Bravo!

Congrats on completing your first song. It's worth our while for sure.

NOTE: Theirs only your signature link that works, none of the others do.

Like your vox on this tune, especially the chorus.

Had to 'dig' a little to get to the song (bottom of your play list and had to click 'view all songs') You may want to bring that to the top for easy access.

A moody ballad for sure with lovely piano playing..guitar playing was nice too...maybe could come up a bit? Don't think I've heard the original version of this tune.

Liked how it came together when the bass/drums came in.

Listening on the monitors and a very pleasing sound/mix.

I too don't know the original. But I like your version of it nevertheless. Yes, the kick more or less disappears, and in the early going I think the lead vocal could come up a little. but other than that it sounds terrific.

Not a massive coldplay fan i have to admit, but i like the odd-track of theirs if i'm being honest, and i'm quite familiar with this one.

Your vocals are sounding nice in this.

The part when the drums comes in sounds a bit too layed-back imho and needs a more dramatic entrance to kick it up a bit.

The guitar solo is good and your playing is pretty good.

Not one of my fave songs, but you've done a good job with it.

The first thing I thought of when I read Scientist was Thomas Dolby!  Oops.  I haven't heard the song either but I do believe that I'm happy with this version!  Very nicely done.  Sounds very full.  Piano sounds really big and present!  I like when bass comes in.  Vocals really fit the tune!   I agree with Blipp.  Lead guitar could be a little more up front.  That's my only crit!

I really like the song... I'll have to look it up...

It's not bad at all.  It's got a solid groove and the voc works.  Nice job, really.

I think the piano sounds a little muddy... but that might be my listening environment.

Peace,

Ian

Off to a great start.  You need to get on the mic a little more with the vocals.  Nothing wrong with these other than they could use a little more omph.  Nice harmonies nice voice.

I would suggest either embellishing the piano a little more or promote  some other instruments in the mix, but you have a good solid base here.  Vocals are on key!  Good job.

I like your song. Congrats on finishing it. Nice, dark beginning...nice vocals and piano. The harmony is a nice addition. It could use an instrumental lead-in such as a nice fill from the piano during the break before the bass and drums come in. The guitar solo is nice and simple to fit the song, but the song cries for a warmer guitar tone with some harmonies IMO.
