"but also prevents exterior noise, such as traffic noise or air conditioning entering into your mic." I don't believe that at all, unless they've figured out how to change the laws of physics. Good thing it has a money back guarantee, give it a try!

These things actually do a very good job. They greatly reduce unwanted reflections from the sides and behind the mike so the vocal recording is a more accurate, closer and deader sound which is good. It may not prevent outside sounds but they tend to cut that sort of interference down as well. Ideal in situations where you may have a fairly quiet studio anyway but just want a little more of a closer vocal sound than what you would normally get when miking vocals in your space without one. They are teriffic for other things as well eg acoustic guitars and guitar amps too. The Pro Model looks better to me and the provided stand idea is a good one.

I made this for about 1/3 of the cost. Of course I have the room for it.

bapu I made this for about 1/3 of the cost. Of course I have the room for it. that looks very cool. looks like you suspended it from the ceiling? what are the frames made out of? is it filled with OC703 or similar? but....that windscreen on the mic...that's the ugliest part of the set up. you need a better color than bright yellow. did you let strummy sing into that thing or something?

Frames are made of 1/2"x4"x4' pine. Cover is burlap. 4"x2'x4' OC703 inside. Hung from the ceiling (i.e. portable) "Yellow if the color of my true love's hair, in the morning, when we rise." Actually, the yellow windscreen came with the mic. It's a'vintage' 199x AKG Tube mic (I think 1995).
