CORDING - what is the equivalent of "Sound Control" in the old GT2

Hi
We are trying to record at a mates house using his newly acquired GT4.  He is getting the 'bleed though' of every track into the new track.  In the old GT2 that used to be caused by ticking "what u hear" instead of Line In. I have used GT2 forever so cant help him out with the GT4.
Where can he find the equivalent in GT4 so he can alter from WYH to Line In please?
Its Sunday 2pm - we're STUCK -so it's off up the Pub until we get some answers or 'inspiration'!
cheers
Ian and Rob

    Hi Ian

It's really nothing to do with which version of GT your friend is using, you need to set the Line In option on the Soundcard controls.

If he's using the PC's built-in soundcard, and he's got the loudspeaker icon  showing in the system tray (bottom right corner, next to the clock) double click on it to open the control panel, then follow Bob's tutorial HERE.

If the icon isn't there, you can toggle it on and off by right clicking on an empty part of the taskbar, selecting Properties, selecting the Notification Area tab and then checking or unchecking the Volume box.

Otherwise, you can access the soundcard panel by: Start > Control Panel > Sound

If it's a purpose built soundcard, let us know what it is and we'll work out how to adjust its settings.

By the way, I hope you had a decent few pints of Banks's while you were out on your 'fact finding' session guys

Fact One - After three pints of Banks' Best Bitter in the "Rot" we came up with a noo choon so are busy a) trying to remember it now (LOL!) and b) trying to apply it to his PC which I forgot to mention is an iMac.
Fact Two - Looks like its a solution though - thanks for the instant help, Steve.

Well - sort of. We gave up trying to remember the tune we 'discovered' in the Pub and came back to my place to finish this one off instead using my good old GT2. Not as awesome as some of your tracks but its our bread and butter.
